I had the absolute pleasure to take Avril (or Ivy as her wonderful foster mom calls her) on a long walk in Connecticut. The minute we picked her up at a local pet store, Ivy greeted us with lots of kisses. She eagerly hopped in our car with no hesitation and was ready for an adventure.

We drove to a nearby trail system with lots of meadows and forested paths to follow. With her nose to the ground, Ivy was super excited to sniff her way for 3 miles - stopping occasionally to really inspect. We came across a couple of dogs along the way and she showed her maturity with great puppy play. She is not a submissive pup but she isn’t aggressive - just super happy!

Probably the cutest thing that Ivy did was taking ice baths by submerging her belly in the nearby streams. She knew how to cool herself quickly and then was immediately ready to keep hiking.

I would HIGHLY recommend this wonderful pup to someone who wants to be outside and is willing to take the time to train. Right now she does pull quite a bit (as all hound puppies do) since she is wanting to smell everything and run, but with just a little bit of training she would be the perfect hiking/and or running buddy and will love you for all the quality time. Her foster mom often takes her for runs after work.
